Marcus and I met in the fall of 2002. To be exact it was October 5 2002. It all started when Katie, Elizabeth and myself went to David Lipscomb to paint the bison. It was about 3 am when we finished. We decided to go to Waffle house for a late night snack. Elizabeth began to proceed to tell me that she knew of someone who would be perfect for me. I was really interested. So she called him and of course he did not answer, but she left him a message. I spent the night at Elizabeth's house and the next morning he called and said that he was interested in meeting me. Maybe one weekend when they came home from college. We talked for a little bit on the phone, got to know each other a little bit then said we would be talking. Well a couple or weeks went by and I had not heard from him and thought that he was not interested. Then all of a sudden it was a Saturday night around 11pm and Liz called and said get ready you are going on a date. I said no I was not really ready to go out and that I smelled of BBQ. She said get up too bad. So I asked my dad he was asleep if I could go spend the night at a friends house. He said I had to wait till my mom got home. I went ahead and told Liz sure. She said she would be there to pick me up around 11:45. Mom got home with my baby nephew just as they pulled into the drive way. I was holding the baby when I went to the car to tell them hold on. I also made sure to tell Liz to tell Marcus that I DID NOT HAVE A KID!!! LOL That night we watched a movie I could not tell you which one now, but it was some kind of war movie. He was so cute. I remember exactly what he was wearing. I remember being a silly teenager trying to decide if I should make the first move to hold his hand or wait on him. I made the first move. I also fell asleep. Then it was time to take Marcus back to Smyrna which is a 40 min drive from Columbia. We sat in the back seat. I was so attracted to him and was hoping he felt the same. Lets just say I made the first move again. I don't normally kiss on the first date, but I had to see it the chemistry was there. IT WAS. He asked me for my number as we dropped him off and he misspelled my name. Funny the things you remember. I also got his number too. He called me first. We began to talk for the next week or two. I drove to Cookeville to see him one weekend and he asked me to be his girlfriend and told me he loved me all in one night. It was crazy but I liked him a lot. I was not sure if it was true love, but I knew something was there. I never told my parents about him until my dad checked my mileage one weekend and asked me where all I had been driving. I had to give it up. He said "I want to meet this boy!" So I told Marcus he had to come meet my family before I was allowed to see him again. I meet his mom and step dad Halloween weekend. His mom had been sick with cancer. It was a strange time to meet her. But she was sweet and we got along great. The following weekend he came to meet my family. I don't think he knew what he was getting himself into. It all went well and it seemed as though my parents liked him. I decided my senior year that I would be attending TTU in the fall. I wanted to be closer to him so we could really get to know each other. I thought this relationship was going to be forever. I am not sure what he thought. We went through some rough times, but we always seemed to get through it. We had been dating for about 6 1/2 years before he proposed. That is another post all in itself. So that is the story of how we meet. I am sure I forgot a lot of things, but it was quite the adventure and still is....

Nearing the end of the Year
So its been about a week or two since the last update. We are doing pretty well. I am still sick going on three weeks now and 2 doctors appointments within 3 days. I am nearing the end of the semester with lots of projects and assignments to complete to get those A's. So far I have all A's in my classes. Which is the first for me. I ready for the semester to be over. I am worn out and is in need of a break.
Marcus and I are heading to Missouri to his grandfathers farm for Thanksgiving. I always enjoy going there. We always have so much fun. We spend lots of time out on the farm four wheeling. There is nothing like being outside having fun with the wind in your hair on a cold winter day. I am so excited but first I have to get over this stupid cold. I just hope its not Pneumonia.
For the last three or four weeks we have been in Smyrna so Marcus can fly his RC helicopter. I go most of the time, but it gets pretty boring sitting there for the entire day with nothing to do but watch these things. They have this annoying sound they make when they take off and I can't hardly stand it. I know that he loves doing this and its better than him riding motorcycles or worse. I love supporting him but sometimes I just want to do something I want for a change. I am in need of a hobby. He is trying to get me into flying Airplanes. It sounds like fun but they are expensive and I would have to practice a lot on our simulator so I don't crash. Maybe this winter we can work on that and by the spring I will have a blinged out Airplane. I want to paint it pink and green. I think that is probably the best part of all this. We will see how that goes. It would be nice if we both could find something that we can do together. So if you have any ideas let me know.

The middle
So Marcus and I have been married for almost 6 months. So far married life has been great. It's not easy all the time but we have been enjoying it. We are about to celebrate our first Thanksgiving and Christmas as a married couple together. I put the Christmas tree up on Tuesday not thinking that Marcus wanted to help so he was a little upset. I told him I was not done that he can still help decorate with me. I love Christmas time. My family always made a big deal about Christmas. The lights, decorations, cookies, and food galore. I tell people that my parents house during Christmas looks a bit like the Griswalds Christmas, but better. So needless to say I can't wait till we have a house and can decorate on the outside too.
